KLCCP Stapled Group’s Annual Report 2018 won Industry Excellence Award at NACRA 2019

For the second consecutive, KLCCP Stapled Group was recognised with the Industry Excellence Award under the Real Estate and Investment Trusts (REITs) category at the National Annual Corporate Report Awards (NACRA) 2019 held on 28 October 2019 at the Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

This win was a momentous accomplishment for the team as it reflected the synergistic collaboration across the business units in upholding high standards and transparent communication in KLCCP Stapled Group’s Annual Report 2018 aptly themed, The Place.  This victory was also testament to the Group’s effort in communicating its business strategies and business model, leading to the creation of value beyond the financial performance for the benefit of all its stakeholders.

With the theme “Towards Accountability and Excellence”, NACRA 2019 which was launched by YB Tuan Lim Guan Eng, Minister of Finance, underscores the vital role of annual report plays in propagating transparency and enhancing integrity of the capital market.  In his keynote address, YB Tuan Lim Guan Eng urged all companies to instill integrity value in their business operation which will be profitable in the long run.  He also highlighted that integrity value will help to uphold the important social capital of trust which is essential towards laying the foundation of rule of law as well as creating an orderly and trustworthy society.

NACRA is an annual event jointly organised by Bursa Malaysia, Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) to promote excellence in corporate reporting through more effective communication by organisations in providing timely, factual and reader-friendly annual reports.  Since its launch, NACRA aims to recognise companies that provide excellence in the presentation of financial and business transformation whilst upholding the higher standards of corporate governance.  NACRA also aims to create public awareness of the objectives of organisation, their operations and their financial performance.

NACRA 2019 showcased seven categories of awards, namely Overall Excellence Awards, Industry Excellence Awards for listed companies, Best Annual Report in Bahasa Malaysia, Best Designed Award, Sustainability Reporting Award, Integrated Reporting Award and the Special Award for non-listed organisation.  It was a hat-trick for CIMB Group Holdings Berhad who walked away with the Overall Excellence Award.

At the awards ceremony, the brand-new awards structure and assessment criteria for NACRA 2020 was also unveiled.  Under the new structure, the categories of awards include Excellence Awards for companies with more than RM10 billion market capitalisation, Excellence Awards for companies with more than RM2 billion market capitalisation, Excellence Awards for companies with less than RM2 billion market capitalisation and non-listed organisation. The special awards categories remained unchanged.
